Where the Wild Things Are

9 1/2 years ago...I was a total country gal before taking the plunge to the big city! Let's just say, growing up on my grandparents' farm created a lifetime of memories! I was as country chic as they came and loooved everything about it. Every year, I take my boys to Lake Tobias back in the valley for a major change of scenery...and a break from the city!

Gavin had a blast holding some baby animals...

his favorite being a baby kangaroo!

He would have taken that little feller home, had he been allowed!

Up next- a baby hedgehog!
Prickly indeed...he sure 'tickled' us!

This was one of my faves...an Alpaca,
who insisted on a few 'kisses'!

Oh, this one was neat too!
A super cuddly baby capybara!

And the cutest little pony!

He wanted to keep G's sandals! ;)

We took a safari tour along the wildlife reserve and got completely up close and personal! How cool is that!?! Let's just say, you're in for a treat...

And we're off for the ride of our lives!

Since the wildlife comes right up to the bus for lots of attention (& treats), Gavin had a blast feeding the animals on the safari...
(be sure to look closely in each photo)

Even the animals smile for the camera! ;)

Or stick their tongues out at ya,
(I'm thinking their way of demanding some grub)

Once you feed one, chances are, more will want that same kind of attention...which is exactly what Gav was hoping for!

These city boys were sure to enjoy every minute!

Then, we went to visit a few ZOO animals!

Our finale landed us in the petting zoo with some of the cutest little Gavin-sized farm animals!

The camel liked Nini's hair more than that cracker!

This is what country life is all about!!

It feels so good visiting back home every chance we get!
