Meet Benson

Home Sweet Home! ONE of the many best things about Summers back in the valley are the Annual Carnival Festivities that roam weekly to all the neighboring towns.

Let the FUN begin with funnel cakes, caramel apples, sno-cones, cotton candy...and lots of it!

Did I mention the cute little kiddies rides,

and the magnificent games that Gavin opted to play all night long!

He walked away with a ton of cool prizes,

But there was one game we tried to avoid, unsuccessfully!

The moment Gav wanted to play the fish game at the local carnival, his daddy and I exchanged a questionable grin. In the past, our attempts of being goldfish owners would last less than a 24-hour period...only for them to be found bellies-up early the next mornings. Poor things! We vowed never again...BUT we didn't want to be the party poopers of this carnival fun, so told him to go for it!

Thought the odds of a 'no-win' were weighing in my favor, until.....

Kerplunk! He won!

Now, Meet Benson... (G's goldfish)!

G was eager to find the nearest pet store for a few new goldfish essentials...

He was thrilled to get his new pet home to show Nini and Pap! All while I was on edge hoping this little orange creature would make it for (at least) one full day!

Haha...gotta love our accessory 'shark'!

Update: our little fishy is now an official part of our family! Benson is going stronger than ever (whew) and getting bigger everyday! After seeing how Benson put such a big smile on G's face that night, we knew he was a keeper!
